2nd Water Management, Portable Water and Irrigation System, Water Loss Control and Technologies Fair

Water is a resource of vital importance for the continuation of life, which makes the process that involves taking it from its source and transferring to end-user much more important, considering the requirements of a well-developed urban life. Along with the 10th Development Plan in Turkey, the issues of “meeting all drinking and potable water needs of settlements, preventing water loss and leakage, extending the use of healthy and environmentally friendly materials, improving the current water supply networks” and preventing water losses by investing on infrastructure have become of strategic importance for municipalities.
With the Regulation on Control of Water Losses in Drinking Water Supply and Distribution Systems published on May 8, 2014, a new leaf has been turned over in the sector and in our country regarding the prevention of water loss and leakage.
Following the Regulation, Water Loss Turkey Forum & Fair, organized for the first time in 2014, has become an important platform to discuss and present the most effective use of water resources, reduction of non-revenue water losses in drinking water supply, efficiency improvements, integrated water management and introduction and extension of successful example practices.
The Forum & Fair, organized by the Turkish Society for Infrastructure and Trenchless Technologies with the support of the General Directorate of Water Management and the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, has brought water management professionals, municipalities, universities, irrigation associations and financial sector together, shaping the dynamics of the sector, since 2014.
